Description

Would you like to discover the city of Lyon through its many facets?

Combine cultural, heritage, and artisanal visits? Would you like to offer different tours to the members of your group or split your group into smaller sections for more exclusive visits?

We propose combining a visit to Brochier Soieries Museum with a visit to Brochier Soieries Silk Printing Workshop, and taking the opportunity to enjoy a walk punctuated by some of the must-see landmarks of Lyon’s Presqu’île.

Your visit will begin in front of the Grand Hôtel-Dieu, an iconic building of the city of Lyon listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Our guide will welcome you to the Brochier Soieries Museum for a one-hour guided tour. Once the visit is over, you will head to the City Hall, standing proudly in front of the famous Place des Terreaux, which was redesigned in 1994 by Daniel Buren, an artist with whom the Brochier House has collaborated for over 20 years. Opposite, you will find the discreet gardens of the Palais Saint-Pierre, where a garden was created in 1822 for teaching flower studies at the drawing school, which played an essential role in Lyon’s silk production.

You will then meet at Brochier Soieries Silk Printing Workshop, where our printers will be waiting with their squeegees and screens to give you a colorful demonstration of traditional Lyon silk-screen printing.

The more curious visitors can then finish their journey by climbing the slopes of Croix-Rousse, where the “canuts” (silk workers) wove silk in the 19th century.
